Dublin Juv. Champs - Day 2 - Report

Friday, 9th June 2018

Day 2 of the Dublin Championships was all about the middle distance events where MSB tend to be very strong. With over 50 juvenile athletes from MSB entered into the various events there was a big presence of Green and Blue in most races.

The weather out in Santry was perfect for running with the sun shining until late and no wind.

The U10 and U11 events were run on times and all the other events were either straight finals or heats depending on the numbers in each race.

The following athletes claimed a medal or qualified for nationals (including one field event!):

Other notable performances of the evening came in the U14G 800m where all five MSB athletes (Aoife Brown, Gara Williams, Leila McCormack, Sinead Dowling and Maddie Buckley) qualified for the final and in the U12B and U12G sections Noah McCarthy, Ben O'Neill, Jake O'Neill, Eva Crowe and Leah O'Dwyer also qualified for the final. The finals take place on Sunday, 17th June.

Sean White-Mullen, as well as claiming the Bronze in the U18B 800m, broke the magical 2-minute barrier for the first time with a superb run and a massive PB of around 1:57

Thanks to all the coaches, parents and officials (especially Monica who was on track-side security detail!) and to Joanne K and Sean M for their photos.
